Sales Engineer - Southern Sales

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Sales Engineer to work for Southern Sales, reporting to Kevin Brice, Southern Sales Manager. The successful candidate will be required to grow sales of equipment at agreed prices and profit margins in the UK; in line with a sales target to achieve agreed profit levels.

The Role

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • To achieve overall sales target
  • To maintain and develop customers in the southern region
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Engineering Consultancies

Major challenges of the role:

  • Competitive market place
  • Pressure on Price/ Profitability
  • Maturity of projects

Nature and Scope

  • Presentations and seminars
  • Planning of meetings
  • Monthly sales reports
  • Following up on sales leads
  • Evaluate market potential
  • Understand market requirements
  • Technical advice
  • Prices and quotations, when required to do so
  • Negotiation on contracts

Desirable skills/experience

The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in HVAC sector
  • Engineering knowledge to a minimum of HND or degree
  • Ability to understand air conditioning systems, chilled water systems, controls systems, air processes and psychometrics
  • 2-5 years track record within sales or application/ sales role
  • Passion for selling and account management
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of people
  • Ability to work with different groups within Airedale and through the engineering consultancies to design engineered/ applied solutions

Training will be provided for the right applicant to develop the skills & knowledge required for the position.
