As the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of an extensive range of chillers, precision air conditioning products and IT cooling systems, Airedale delivers products to customers from a broad range of sectors including banking, telecommunications, industrial, health, leisure, retail, defence, and education. Many of these customers also rely on Airedale for its service and maintenance packages.
Below is an overview of works we have carried out with some of our key customers.
Through an extensive programme of capacity control upgrades at one of its major Military Air & Information sites in North West England, global defence, aerospace and security company, BAE Systems, has achieved annual savings of 70-80% on its computer room air conditioning energy costs, equivalent to £350,000.
Reuters is a global information company providing information to professionals in the financial services, media and corporate markets. Although best known as the world’s largest international multimedia news agency, more than 90% of Reuters’ revenues are derived from its financial services business. Airedale used its AsNew service to strip and rebuild 74 close control units in Reuters’ principal UK Data Centre in London. Replacement with complete units was assessed as being too risky as the Data Centre is live at all times and continuous system operation is crucial.
Epson Telford Ltd, part of the Seiko Epson Corporation, manufactures and distributes printer supplies and media products throughout Europe. Airedale’s cooling systems play a major role in the precise control of temperature and air quality in critical areas and clean rooms at the Shropshire facility. Epson has built a positive, long-term partnership with Airedale to ensure maximum performance and energy efficiency through on-going system development and maintenance.
Vodafone UK is part of the world’s largest mobile community and its operations are focused on the provision of mobile phone services to global customers. Development of its core building structure saw Vodafone UK invest in a new, UK-based world headquarters with upgrading of existing Data Centres. Airedale AsNew service was able to strip and rebuild precision air conditioning units in a key Data Centre which was live at all times, where continuous system operation was crucial and full unit replacement was too risky.
Harrogate Hydro provides leisure and gym facilities to the Harrogate community and has 800 full time members. Three swimming pools offer a range of activities and Brimham’s fitness centre, with its state of the art fitness equipment, has a purpose built dance studio and changing rooms. When Airedale installed a new comfort cooling system at the facility, including a new chiller, the Hydro also decided to take out a preventative maintenance service plan with Airedale.
“We have retained the maintenance contract because it’s akin to having the manufacturer on site. It also means that any upgrades Airedale do on the control side, such as improved strategies, we can download them. With the help of Airedale’s intelligent AireWorks BMS and their maintenance team we can also see which units are ‘hot spots’ and deal with them. In working with Airedale, I’m moving with technology to give my customers in manufacturing and the call centre a better product and fewer breakdowns and I trust Airedale to do that. Absolute trust in our service and maintenance team is essential.”
“Reliability and the level of service that Airedale offer are key issues for a business critical solution such as this. The project ran very smoothly.”
