Providing a suitable thermal management envelope for people and equipment to perform at their best is a critical consideration for modular construction. Gone are the days when students were happy to sit shivering in a cabin in the school carpark. Airedale have drawn on 46 years of providing critical cooling in the world’s toughest applications to develop solutions tailored for modular environments.
Unlike a lot of providers, our solutions aren’t simply designed to operate at a fixed setpoint, pumping air into a space. This approach can result in over-cooling, hotspots and high energy bills. Airedale modular solutions flex with demand, using intelligent software to keep the entire space at optimum condition. We leverage what we have learnt from data centre cooling, utilising ambient conditions to maximise free cooling and dynamically adjusting set points to save energy.
Our supervision and monitoring software has been designed with modular buildings in mind, giving operators holistic views of entire fleets or detailed views of individual spaces at the touch of a button. Additional monitoring points and pressure sensors can be deployed to give precise control of sensitive equipment like batteries, keeping them within their optimum operating envelope whilst saving energy where possible. We are also able to connect to third party devices like security cameras, giving a single source of truth for all critical building services and delivering piece of mind for operators managing sites in remote areas.
